Since Easter the Duke of Edinburgh students have once again been working hard and they are now fast approaching the end of the second section of their award; the volunteering section. Well done guys! The evidence and assessments for this will be submitted and signed off by the end of this week.
Here’s what they have been getting up to:
- Firstly the students came up with lots of different ideas for things they could do to help others.
- Next they selected the best ideas and we set up a “Volunteering Carousel” so that everyone had a chance to have a go at everything.
- After that the hard work began, for most of the last two terms the students from both London and Liverpool classes have been participating in a whole variety of activities and they have worked their socks off!
When we come back to school after the Easter holidays we will begin work on the fourth section of their award, the expedition section which everyone is very excited about. Parents of DofE students should all have received a kit list so they can start gathering the kit items they will need, if you have not received this letter please contact the school and let us know.
The third section of the award, the physical component is still ongoing as this runs for six months and it will finish at the same as the expedition section.
