London Marathon run for Weston Hospice Care
Our Deputy Head, Mr Peacock and his wife, Lisa have travelled to London on Saturday to take part in the 2016 London Marathon to raise money for Weston Hospice Care.
After finishing the run Mr Peacock said:
“We had the most fantastic time, the atmosphere throughout the day was spectacular. Having to start at different points we had to arrange to meet at the 6 mile marker, the iconic Cutty Sark ship! Luckily we found each other and ran the rest of the route together. I am very proud of Lisa, she ran every step of the way and we finished in around 5 hours.
We both wanted to thank everyone for their support during the training and the race. We have managed to raise an amazing £2815 for Weston Hospice Care so far with over £1000 just from the Westhaven Mini-Marathon. Without the help of children, parents, staff, family and friends we would not have reached this amount so we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
There is no time to rest for me as I now turn my attention to a Half Ironman Triathlon in Staffordshire on 12th June. It consists of a 1.2 mile swim followed by a 56 mile bike ride and then a 13.1 mile run to finish!”
