To commemorate the 400th anniversary of the death of William Shakespeare, we held a “Shakespeare Day” at Westhaven on Wednesday 20th April. All lessons throughout the day had a Shakespearean theme and pupils had the opportunity to take part in a variety of tasks which they thoroughly enjoyed! These included:
- designing their own coat of arms in Art with Mrs Cantello
- constructing a replica of the Globe Theatre using the laser cutter in DT with Mr Humphreys
- making a rabbit stew and vegetable Pottage in Food with Miss Constable
- learning Shakespearean insults in English with Mr Vincent
- translating Shakespeare’s play titles from English into French with Mrs Payne
A huge thank you to all staff and pupils involved in this special off-timetable day!
Mrs Payne
What a wonderful experience I had as headteacher on Shakespeare day !
I have been the butt of Shakespearean insults and I have eaten pottage ! The pottage was delicious. Well done Esther for being voted chef of the week for your efforts .
