Role: Assistant Head Teacher / SENCO

About Me

I was born in Somerset and grew up in the village of Berrow with my parents, 2 brothers and 3 sisters. As you can imagine, there was never a dull moment!

To sum me up, I feel the words of our most famous playwright work well…..

“And though she be but little, she is fierce” William Shakespeare

Career Highlights

From the age of 5, I had always known that I had wanted to teach and I finally qualified as a teacher from Chester University in 2001 having studied a 4 year Bachelor of Education degree.

Each and everyday in the classroom is a highlight and over my career I have witnessed many special and memorable events but, if I had to pick, in our last Ofsted at my previous school, we led our team to achieve recognition as being an outstanding school; a very proud moment for us all.

Hobbies & Interests

In my time away from the classroom, I love being a mum to my daughter. Our favourite time of year is the autumn and we have great seasonal adventures and love exploring the outdoors.

We also love to bake although I don’t think we’ll be making an appearance on the ‘Bake Off’ anytime soon!   🍰

I also love to go for walks, cycle and roller blade.

My Personality

I am a Capricorn and, whilst not necessarily a follower of such things, feel the typical zodiac traits summarise me pretty accurately!

The Capricorn-born people are the most determined of the entire Zodiac. The most prominent qualities of the Goats, as they are called, are that they are ambitious, conservative, determined, practical and helpful. They make good team leaders and organisers, because of their single-minded focus on their work, sense of responsibility and sincerity. They are perceived by people around them to be workaholics, unemotional and detached. Sometimes their negative qualities – suspicious, resentful, inhibited, pessimistic and stubborn – are seen clearly, but deep inside the Goat is a humble heart.’
