Westhaven Mini Marathon

Dear Students, Parents, Carers, Staff and Friends of Westhaven School

You may be aware that Mr Peacock, our Deputy Head and his wife, Lisa are running the London Marathon on 24^th April this year. They are trying to raise money for Weston Hospicecare, a charity close to our hearts and extremely local to Westhaven.

Some of you may already have donated money, either directly to their online giving account, http://virginmoneygiving.com/team/Jamieandlisapeacock or by a cash donation via the collecting tins in school. Thank you all very much and they are delighted to announce that they have achieved their initial target of £1000 by Christmas.

To support them with their fundraising we will be organising a Mini-Marathon on Thursday 24^th March at 1:30 PM. Participants will run, jog or walk exactly 1/10 of the full marathon distance of 26.2 miles/42kms, starting and finishing at Westhaven School.

The route, which will be fully marshalled along the way, will be from outside Westhaven and lead on to Uphill beach towards Weston. The turning point, at exactly 1.3 miles/2.1 kms will be clearly indicated with a manned energy/aid station, before heading back to the finish line back at School.

If you are interested, would like to enter and collect some sponsorship, with all proceeds going to Weston Hospicecare there is a form attached. Everyone that completes the marathon will be presented with a certificate and medal. There will also be a prize for the learner with the highest sponsorship in each of the Lower, Middle and Upper areas of the School.

We will keep you all updated with the running total via regular announcements in assembly and a poster in the school entrance.
