Westhaven trip to the Geraint Thomas Velodrome in Newport

On Wednesday 13^th February a group of 11 pupils travelled to Newport in South Wales to have a go at cycling on the indoor Velodrome.

Some had been before but for many it was a new experience. There was nervous excitement on the minibus and when we arrived and looked at the track there was also some self-doubt.

However, once we had collected our bikes and met our instructor it was time to face the challenge.

Everyone had a fabulous time, listened to instructions and behaved in the Westhaven way.

Holly ‘ At first I was really nervous but I’m glad I did it and I managed to ride on the Velodrome’.

Savannah ‘ I’m so proud of myself because I got more confident, now I know I can try new things’.
