Last week, year 11 students had their work experience week. Students went to multiple placements ranging from a construction site to a computer website design company. W6 students also took part in a session ran by Uncle Paul’s Chilli Charity and learnt about working on a farm and in kitchens, as well as tasting raw ingredients and various jams, chutneys and chilli sauces! They did their work experience week a couple of weeks ago at Bridgewater and Taunton College in various departments.
Some of the placements were individual and some were small group placements supported by members of Westhaven staff. All students gained valuable work-related experience improving their employability skills, as well as developing their social skills, resilience and confidence. All placements were successful. Students received a reference from their employer and will be presented with a certificate in their celebration assembly.
We would like to take this time to thank all of the businesses that made it possible for our students to have this fantastic experience.
