Lower school pupil Zac Fulton defied all expectations today when he rode round the school playground on a bike with no stabilisers and no help. Zac has only been coming to cycling club for a few weeks and has impairments that we felt might stop him from learning to ride a bike unaided. Despite this, Zac has enjoyed coming to club and using our adapted bikes (“ride-ons”) and support from staff. Slowly he was able to freewheel without help: first 5 metres then 10 then 15 until eventually he was trying out a bike with pedals and eventually riding on his own. Zac is still not properly safe to ride on the road but a big milestone has been achieved. Well done Zac.
